MissionHires is partnering with an established aerospace and defense organization to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer (Communication Systems). In this role, you will troubleshoot complex analog, digital, and RF electronics, drive root cause analysis for production issues, validate design improvements through experiments and simulations, and enhance manufacturing, testing, and reliability for communication products used in demanding environments. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams, mentor junior talent, and support new product introduction from prototype through production.

How You'll Contribute

  • Monitor manufacturing performance and analyze production failures to determine root causes
  • Troubleshoot electronic assemblies, boards, and modules down to the component level
  • Analyze and support analog, digital, and RF circuit designs
  • Plan and execute experiments and simulations to validate design improvements and corrective actions
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, test procedures, and product reliability
  • Mitigate component shortages by identifying alternates and validating performance
  • Support prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, and production readiness for new products
  • Collaborate with quality and supply chain to resolve material and component discrepancies
  • Provide technical mentorship and troubleshooting guidance to technicians and junior engineers
  • Lead technical investigations and coordinate cross-functional engineering tasks

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for analog and digital electronics at the component level
  • Experience performing circuit analysis and simulation
  • Ability to design and execute engineering experiments and analyze results
  • Proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and signal generators
  • Proven cross-functional collaboration in fast-paced engineering and operations environments
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 4+ years, or 10+ years professional EE experience in lieu of degree
  • Preferred: Experience with communication systems or radio technologies
  • Preferred: Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and component datasheets
  • Preferred: Experience troubleshooting circuit assemblies to the component level
  • Preferred: Familiarity with LabVIEW or Jira
  • Preferred: Prior experience in manufacturing or production engineering environments
