Join an elite Southeastern law firm celebrated for its innovative legal strategies and collaborative culture. This hybrid role in Charlotte, NC (approx. 3 days in office) is ideal for a Patent Transactional Attorney at the Associate, Counsel, or Junior Partner level who brings a passion for intellectual property law and a track record of success in patent-related transactions. You will work closely with an accomplished team handling IP acquisitions, licensing, and strategic patent agreements for a wide range of sophisticated clients in a growth-driven position that values autonomy, impactful legal work, and a supportive firm environment.

How You'll Contribute

  • Lead and assist in structuring, negotiating, and finalizing patent acquisitions, licenses, and other IP-related transactions.
  • Advise clients on intellectual property risk, due diligence, and asset management during M&A and other commercial transactions.
  • Collaborate across corporate, IP, and litigation teams to support client goals.
  • Provide strategic counsel on IP portfolios and legal frameworks supporting innovation.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Juris Doctor from a Top 30 accredited U.S. law school.
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher; candidates must be in the top 50% of their graduating class.
  • 3-8 years of IP transactional experience, preferably from a Top 200 AM Law firm.
  • Prior involvement in patent acquisition and licensing is essential.
  • Admission to the North Carolina Bar or eligibility for admission is preferred.
  • Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and client communication skills.
