The Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager will lead the design, governance, implementation, and continuous optimization of compensation, payroll, benefits, and HRIS strategies across all countries within the Unicomer regional operation.
This role is responsible for ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, operational excellence, compliance, and data-driven decision-making aligned with the organization’s growth and transformation agenda.
The position requires a strong analytical mindset, regional stakeholder management, advanced compensation expertise, and the ability to lead transformation initiatives related to payroll, benefits, and HR technology.
Compensation Strategy
Lead the regional compensation philosophy and governance framework.
Design and maintain salary structures, salary bands, grading architecture, and job leveling methodologies across the region.
Conduct compensation benchmarking using market surveys and external data providers.
Ensure competitiveness and alignment with market trends by country and business line.
Develop salary increase, merit, and incentive recommendations.
Support executive compensation analyses and compensation committee presentations.
Partner with Finance to ensure compensation planning aligns with budget and workforce strategy.
Salary Bands & Job Architecture
Develop and maintain regional salary bands and compensation frameworks.
Standardize job evaluation methodologies across countries.
Lead calibration exercises to ensure internal equity.
Analyze compensation gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain governance over promotions, reclassifications, and organizational changes.
Payroll Management
Oversee regional payroll governance and controls.
Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, timeliness, and audit readiness.
Coordinate with country payroll teams and external vendors.
Lead payroll process optimization and automation initiatives.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements across all operating countries.
Monitor payroll KPIs, controls, and reconciliation processes.
Benefits Administration
Lead regional benefits strategy and harmonization initiatives.
Evaluate and optimize medical insurance, life insurance, wellness, retirement, and employee benefit programs.
Negotiate with providers and brokers regionally.
Monitor benefit utilization, cost efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
Develop total rewards communication strategies to improve employee understanding and engagement.
HRIS & Digital Transformation
Serve as regional owner for Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits modules within the HRIS ecosystem.
Partner with HR Technology and IT teams on implementations, integrations, and process improvements.
Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and system governance.
Lead digital transformation initiatives related to Total Rewards and Payroll.
Drive automation and analytics capabilities for workforce planning and compensation analysis.
Support HR dashboards and executive reporting initiatives.
Analytics & Reporting
Build executive-level dashboards and analytics related to compensation, payroll costs, benefits, and workforce trends.
Generate insights and recommendations for leadership decision-making.
Prepare presentations and reports for senior leadership and board-level discussions.
Monitor regional HR metrics and compensation indicators.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure regional compliance with labor legislation, tax requirements, internal policies, and audit standards.
Maintain compensation and payroll governance controls.
Support internal and external audits.
Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee information.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Industrial Engineering, Economics, or related field
Master’s Degree preferred
8+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, Regional Payroll, HR Analytics, and HRIS Administration
Strong regional/multicountry experience across Latin America
Experience managing salary bands and job architecture
Experience with complex payroll structures and large employee populations
Experience in retail, financial services, consumer goods, or multinational companies preferred
Experience leading HR transformation or HR technology projects is highly desirable
Advanced Excel and data analytics skills
Strong knowledge of compensation benchmarking methodologies
Experience with HRIS platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM, UKG, Meta4, or PeopleSoft
Knowledge of payroll systems and integrations
Advanced reporting/dashboard skills (Power BI preferred)
Strong financial and analytical skills
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience working in multicultural and matrixed organizations
